Meridian is honored to be the largest provider of mental health and substance use disorder services in North Central Florida; while operating as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. A 501(c)(3) organization must meet certain requirements, allowing for IRS approval as a tax-exempt, non-profit, charitable organization. Qualifying entities are continuously monitored by the US Department of Treasury. As a result of this qualification, Meridian receives state and federal funding; allowing us to provide services, free of charge or on a sliding scale, to uninsured individuals in need of treatment or assistance. In the 2015-2016 year alone, we were able to provide $1,490,755 in uncompensated care to clients who were without payer services. These services include, but are not limited to: In addition to client services, Meridian also provides training such as Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), to equip community members and public safety officers with the tools needed to respond when a mental health crisis arises. Meridian began offering these courses in 2010 and has since certified over 1,000 individuals. At Meridian, we stand by our mission “To promote the health, recovery and well-being of those affected by mental illnesses and substance use disorders through prevention, coordinated treatment and supportive services.”
