The Amazing Give- 2016

As I’m sure many of you have seen on our Facebook, yesterday was The Amazing Give. Thanks to your enthusiasm and energy, we raised a total of $4,140 in only 24 hours. For those of you who may not know, The Amazing Give is a 24-hour online event hosted by The Community Foundation of North Central Florida. The Amazing Give recognizes and rewards the contributions of local nonprofits and connects people to the causes that move them the most. Nonprofits across the region received special prizes in the form of cash grants based on their fundraising totals. Meridian placed 10^th in dollar amount raised. We also received the most donations during the Health Power Hour, securing a $250 matching grant from BBVA Compass. Additionally, Meridian had 40 unique donors out of its 42 total donations, placing 13^th out of the 46 organizations that participated. We wanted supporters to know what their donation would do. A $40 donation would cover the cost of Mental Health First Aid training, while a $500 donation would cover the cost of one day in a residential substance abuse program at Meridian. For the final countdown, we met up with donors and representatives of other nonprofits at Swamp Head to celebrate both Meridian’s success and the success of the other nonprofits. The effort raised $282,611 in support of area nonprofits in 9 counties. We are so excited with the results from this event, and we can’t wait to partner with The Community Foundation of North Central Florida for the next Amazing Give!
