Meridian is pleased to be a part of Stop the Stigma, Gainesville’s third annual event put on by Sarkis Family Psychiatry! We encourage the community to join us at this free, fun-filled, community event. Stop the Stigma will take place on April 25^th from 12:00pm-4:00pm at Kanapaha Park. Meridian is a proud sponsor of the event and will be there to support a much needed anti-stigma effort and provide information on our services to the community. Stop the Stigma will have fun for the whole family with all its activities such as, a bounce house, inflatable slide, rock wall, face painting, informational booths, food, and much more. Four million children and adolescence in the U.S suffer from a serious mental health disorder and yet only 20% receive services (National Alliance on Mental Illness). As a community and mental health organization we have a responsibility to be a part of changing the message by participating in anti-stigma events and campaigns. Let’s help stigma become a disappearing weakness, and allow seeking treatment to become a growing strength. Please join us in this much needed and surely entertaining anti stigma event!
