Telehealth is a Great Option for Care: Accessed by Computer, Tablet, or Smartphone

Gainesville, Fla. –  Meridian is your community comprehensive healthcare provider for the treatment of mental illnesses and substance use disorder.  As such, Meridian will remain open and continue to care for our clients, through all levels of care in all locations.  During an extended crisis, mental health and wellness is of an even greater concern due uncertainty and the many factors impacting the community.

What we are doing: We are open and available.

The health and safety of our clients, community, and our caregivers is our first and foremost priority. As such, Meridian is following all established guidelines of the CDC and Public Health Officials.  Meridian’s medical leadership team has carefully established direct medical protocol to minimize the risk of exposure of COVID-19.  Our medical staff is on high alert and we are taking every precaution possible; such as eliminating visitation for adults in inpatient and residential settings, screening for signs and symptoms of illness, enhancing cleaning protocols, and establishing isolations areas, just to name a few.

Telehealth for Community Members – Meridian has long been a leading provider of telemedicine and is prepared to serve those in the community that are following social distancing guidelines, or at high risk for COVID-19, or are unable to seek services at a physical location.  Telehealth is a convenient and confidential way to access outpatient services. 

Telehealth for Students – As a result of school closures forced by COVID-19, students will experience lost instructional time; but, missing school can mean more than lost instructional time; it can also deprive a child of needed healthcare such as counseling. Telehealth is available for students that were receiving counseling through Meridian at school and for new students that may need assistance during this time.

How to Access Telehealth Services: Current clients can access this service by contacting your Meridian provider or calling our access line at 352-374-5600 option 3. New clients should contact our access line at 352-374-5600, select option 2, then option 1.

COVID-19 Information about appointments for Existing Meridian Clients:

If you develop symptoms consistent with the flu or respiratory infection, or you are concerned that you may have been exposed to COVID-19 and you have an appointment scheduled at Meridian during this time please reach out to our scheduling line at 1-800-330-5615 and then select 3.  If you believe you need medical attention go to your nearest emergency room.
