September 2020 “Voices of Recovery”
Throughout September, Meridian is celebrating National Recovery Month. Every year, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) coordinates efforts spotlighting, celebrating, and advocating for addiction recovery. This year we are sharing a few of Meridian’s “Voices of Recovery” on social media.
“National Recovery Month is a national observance held every September to educate Americans that substance use treatment and mental health services can enable those with mental and substance use disorders to live healthy and rewarding lives. Now in its 31st year, Recovery Month celebrates the gains made by those living in recovery.” SAMHSA
At Meridian, patients are able to take control of their journey to recovery through participation in a range of comprehensive and individualized rehabilitation services including, but not limited to, the following: acute care, addictions receiving/detox, residential care, intensive outpatient care, group therapy, individual therapy, and medication assisted treatment.
It is important to provide prevention and educational opportunities that foster recovery and help combat addiction in the communities we serve. For some communities, Meridian services are the only opportunity for working toward recovery and a sober life.
Every September, we look forward to spreading awareness and hope to those in recovery, and for those seeking recovery personally or for a loved one. Meridian understands recovery is an important journey and we are proud to celebrate recovery this September. We hope you will join us online. Be sure to join in on the conversation with Meridian this month as we spread awareness and advocate for the journey to recovery on social media Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Instagram.
