Morris Breitstein has joined Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. as the new Senior Vice President of Administrative Services/CFO. Breitstein recently relocated to Gainesville Fla., from New York, where he served for over 14 years as the CFO of Selfhelp Community Services, a multifaceted healthcare and social services organization.
Throughout Breitstein’s career, he has managed several large organizations. “Interestingly as large as the organizations were in New York City, none were as complex as Meridian, in terms of the breath of services offered and funding sources”, said Breitstein.
“We are thrilled to have someone as experienced as Morris on our team,” said Maggie Labarta, Ph.D., President/CEO, “His experience will help us navigate this fiscally conservative time.”
Breitstein commented that “It was the reputation of Dr. Labarta, and the work that Meridian does that led me to want to be a part of the leadership team.” Breitstein has dedicated most of his career to improving the financial strength of charitable organizations to help further their mission and provide needed services.
Morris graduated from Pace University’s New York City campus and is excited about his move to Gainesville and looks forward to tailgate BBQ’s, and the other exciting amenities that Gainesville’s culture has to offer.
