Meridian to Host Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training

Home » Blog » Meridian to Host Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training

Registration is now open for a FREE Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training to be held in Meridian’s community room on March 16, 2018 from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. MHFA trains individuals to recognize risk factors and warning signs of mental health and addiction issues, helping to minimize the impact on employees in the workplace. MHFA also helps family members, caretakers and community members identify potential mental health issues by taking action before it is too late. This training was supported by the Mental Health Coalition of North Central Florida with proceeds generated through this year’s Shine Holiday Concert, organized by Dorene Webster. The event was held on December 10th, 2017 with the mission of generating donations needed to continue certifying Alachua County residents in MHFA. Mental Health First Aider certification is accredited by the National Council for Behavioral Health and is valid for three years after completion. Doors will open at 8:00 AM for coffee, tea, and water. Please check in at the front desk of our main building (large white building facing 13th street). Additional event and registration information is also available in TicketTailor.
