Meridian is excited to announce, in observance of National Recovery Month, we will be hosting our inaugural Race to Recovery, 5K on Sunday, September 24th, 2017. National Recovery Month is an annual observance held each September in an effort to educate Americans on the importance of providing substance use treatment and mental health services to those in need. This 5k is for runners and walkers all of abilities and the route will highlight Meridian’s Gainesville Campus. The event will be chip timed with the top three male and female runners receiving a prize. Not that fast? No worries, every participant will receive a sporty race day t-shirt! All proceeds from the event will benefit Meridian’s Mothers Intensive Support Treatment (MIST) program for mothers or soon to be mothers that have a substance use disorder and are looking to take the next step on their Road To Recovery. In the MIST program, infants stay with their mother, allowing for the crucial bonding that takes place in the early months of development. This grants these mothers the ability to receive treatment while remaining drug-free during nursing and beyond. This event would not be possible without the help of our sponsors like Florida Food Serviceand Liquid Creative! For more information on sponsoring and/or registering for the event, contact David Rountree at david_rountree@mbhci.org or 352-374-5600 ext. 8187” Join us in the Race to Recovery and help pave the road to recovery for those in need!
