During the month of June the healthcare accreditation organization CARF International, conducted an onsite survey of Meridian Behavioral Healthcare Inc.’s numerous programs and clinics throughout the North Florida region. This survey resulted in Meridian being awarded a three-year accreditation for meeting and exceeding CARF’s high standards.
The CARF accreditation will extend through June 2018. This achievement is an indication of Meridian’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served. This high degree of accreditation
reflects Meridian’s commitment to continuously improving services, encouraging feedback, and serving the community.
CARF’s on-site survey summary unveiled many of Meridian’s strengths, including the leadership team’s dedication to developing, maintaining, and expanding quality behavioral health services as well as employing passionate and knowable individuals to work towards Meridian’s mission:
To promote the health, recovery, and well-being of those affected by mental illness and substance use disorders through prevention, coordinated treatment, and supportive services
The CARF Onsite Survey Summary stated, “Staff members demonstrate professionalism and pride in their work. They are acutely aware of the multiple issues their clients face and display a confident attitude in their ability to facilitate clients’ efforts to improve their quality of life. This is exemplified in the outcomes achieved in the psychosocial rehabilitation program.” The survey summary also provided positive client feedback such as, “Persons served stated staff members are good listeners, caring, and knowledgeable and treat them with dignity and respect. Many felt comfortable recommending the organization’s services to friends and family.”
Meridian’s President and CEO Maggie Labarta, PhD. stated, “Accreditation provides our patients and the community the assurance that Meridian meets high standards for patient care. We are proud of achieving this level of accreditation. Meridian will continue to strive to meet and exceed the healthcare standards set by CARF as we provide integrated and compassionate care to our patients and work with the community. Our commitment to providing wellness within everyone’s reach continues.”
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International is an independent, not-for-profit of health and human services whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of persons served.
