Center for Building Healthy Families Renovation

At Meridian’s Center for Building Healthy Families, our staff works to create an environment that improves children’s lives. We provide mental healthcare and other services for all children and families. Our expert staff work collaboratively with families, service providers, schools, state agencies and other organizations to help ensure that all children and families have access to the highest quality of care. The children of Lake City and Columbia County have a pressing need but they cannot tackle this alone. Bringing The Center for Healthy Families to fruition is a major undertaking for our community, but is vital to improving the collective mental health of Columbia County. $47,700 is needed to complete the renovations and refurbishment of Williams Manor and establish Lake City’s own Center for Building Healthy Families. With the support of individuals and business alike, you can make a difference in the lives and futures of children and their families throughout Columbia County and beyond.

Mother’s Intensive Supportive Treatment (MIST) Program Expansion

In the MIST program, infants stay with the mother, allowing for crucial bonding that takes place in the early months of development; while also allowing the mother to receive treatment and remain drug-free during nursing. Women admitted to the program remain in the residential component of the program for 6-12 months; then transition into an intensive 5-day–per week outpatient program. This campaign was launched by Meridian at the Second Annual Steps to Wellness luncheon on Thursday, September 7th at the Sweetwater Branch Inn, located in Gainesville, Florida. The event raised raised $51,140 towards the capital campaign goal of $750,000. Proceeds generated through this campaign will benefit an expansion of the existing residential facility, allowing mothers with both newborns and older children to stay onsite during their residential treatment.
