Satellite, Sunset & Choice Apartments, Supported Housing
The Satellite, Sunset & Choice Apartments are independent living facilities providing community-based, rent-subsidized, supportive housing for individuals reintegrating into community life.
Supported housing is intended to help individuals make the final transition to fully independent living. Residents are assigned to an apartment unit and expected to maintain personal grooming and hygiene, manage income, monitor and self-administer medications, perform household activities and chores, prepare meals cooperatively or individually, purchase food and other items needed to maintain a household, utilize community transportation systems and recreational and social resources with staff encouragement and minimal prompting and supervision. Residents have typically been involved in Rehabilitation Services as needed for assistance learning the daily living skills needed to reside in their environment. Supported housing Apartments are located in Alachua County and are accessible to any person who resides in the Meridian Service area: Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Suwannee and Union Counties.
