Psychiatric Outpatient Services (Medical Services)
Adult and children's psychiatric clinics are provided at each of Meridian's 9 service sites on a regular basis. Meridian's staff psychiatrists and Advanced Register Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) provide initial and ongoing psychiatric evaluation, medication administration and monitoring.
The initial psychiatric visit is used to determine a diagnosis and whether medication can be used safely and effectively to reduce symptoms and enhance functioning. Once the Psychiatrist/ARNP and the person agree to a medication plan, return appointments for monitoring are made as needed. The Psychiatrists/ARNP may make referrals to other healthcare providers to ensure effectiveness and safety of treatment.
Persons may refer themselves or be referred by family members, the judicial system, law enforcement, local medical hospitals and practitioners, significant others, Meridian programs, or other community and social service agencies.
