Salary : $30,000.00

Job Summary

This is a professional position providing intensive case management, follow-up and service delivery to individuals with mental health and substance abuse services being diverted from the jail via the misdemeanor deferred prosecution mental health court program. This person must be able to work independently as well as with the mental health court treatment team and community partners.

• 1. Develop working relationship with all professionals in the legal system
• 2. Assess individuals in jail or community to determine if they are legally competent to participate in resolving their legal charges
• 3. Assess clients community needs and mental health/substance abuse needs and link client to appropriate services
• 4. Interface with Forensic Liaison at Public Defenders office and mental health court screener (gatekeepers for referrals)
• 5. Advocate appropriately for client at all court hearings

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related field, preferably some case management, court, working with chronic mentally ill.
